Toothless was completely prepared to sit and wait, since that was what he was used to doing whenever Hiccup wandered into populated cities. Plus, the last time had ended with him fighting off a Monstrous Nightmare and then being put into chains. It was safe to say Toothless didn't have any intention of following right away. However, Hiccup looked over his shoulder and suddenly the dragon realized Hiccup wanted him too. Without even a moment of hesitation the Night Fury abandoned all previous thoughts and hurried after his rider, trotting across the grass.
Though, the dragon still wasn't very comfortable with this. As soon as the open space started to become houses Toothless whined a little and bumped his head gently into Hiccup's elbow. It seemed like such a ghost town at first, but slowly people began to come out of hiding to investigate the dragon and the boy when they realized the dragon wasn't about to attack and burn their village to the ground. As more and more of them began to appear, Toothless surveyed all of them with his green eyes narrowed in warning. The only thing that was keeping him calmly in place was Hiccup.
Suddenly there was a tug at his tail. Toothless whirled around with a growl on his lips, but he ended up completely swallowing it instead. It was a child, a young girl, and she was looking at the handmade tail piece Hiccup had made her. Toothless' ears went up a little in curiosity as she picked it up and tried to peer under it, eyes scrunched up in thought as she tried to understand it. When she noticed he was looking at her, she dropped the tail in surprise, but she didn't run. There was a brief moment where dragon and child stared, before Toothless playfully jerked his tail, making the fake piece bump into her.
How could he resist? Human chicks were kind of cute when they weren't learning how to stab a dragon through the heart.
The little girl laughed, now trying to catch his tail every time Toothless jerked it away from her. The game was short lived however, because the terrified mother ran foreword to collect her daughter and drag her away from the scary dragon.
Toothless looked a little annoyed about it, giving the woman a dry look and sighing through his nose, before looking back towards Hiccup. Just in time to catch something out of the corner of his eye in the air, too big to be just a bird. Toothless looked towards one of the roofs with his ears held up high. However, he didn't see anything... Toothless squinted his eyes a little. He felt like something was there, and felt like he could just make it out, but unfortunately neither were proving true. Deciding it must be a trick of the light, Toothless shook his head and turned back to his rider who was currently occupied.
That's when he saw it again. This time Toothless took no chances, leaving Hiccup's side for the first time to investigate. The townspeople panicked at the dragon's sudden movement, scattering. Well, all except one.

To begin with having Toothless with him hadn't seemed like such a bad idea.. they were in a strange place with who knew what? and if they had to make a quick get away then it was perfect. That was until Hiccup felt a small nudge against his back, glancing over his shoulder towards his friend Hiccup spoke. "What is it bud?" After receiving another soft nudge, Hiccup glanced in the direction that Toothless gestured too. Houses and lots of them at that "Oh boy.. urgh...this can't be good." he stated as he slowly begun to back away, people were beginning to come out of their houses some appeared scared whilst others looked like they could demolish a house.
People slowly begun to congregate and whispers danced backwards and forwards between each other. With a nervous laugh Hiccup offered a half wave towards the people before he headed to Toothless and begun to lightly shove him to go back in the direction they come from. "Okay bud.. I think it's time for us to go..heh" Hiccup stated yet the sudden flapping noise made his pause. Glancing around to the side of his friend, the two looked back simultaneously towards Toothless's tail. There picking up and dropping the tail was a girl.. a child no more than 3 in age..yet at this point Hiccup was grateful of the fact that Toothless was patient. He even played with the child for a moment, petting his friends neck to let him know how good he was the mother of the child quickly took her child back.
It was then, Hiccup spotted the distracted look that crossed over Toothless's face, glancing in the same direction Hiccup couldn't see anything. "What is it bud?" he questioned in a low whisper whilst the crowd around them still seemed curious. Before Hiccup could say another word Toothless was off heading in the direction of a small group of people. "Toothless! Hiccup called before heading after his friend, whilst muttering swift apologies to those that screamed and gave the dragon a wide birth. Without looking where he was going, Hiccup walked directly into the side of Toothless and nearly toppled backwards if it wasn't for the fact Toothless was there which allowed him something to hold onto. 'Stupid thing!' he thought as he cursed his prosthetic leg.
Looking past Toothless in that moment Hiccup at first couldn't understand what he was looking at, until he then saw a boy.. perhaps slightly older than Hiccup himself although he seemed different from the others, he didn't run in fear nor did he look the aggressive type still looks were always deceiving right? "Uh.. hello?" Hiccup spoke, hoping that the people here spoke a similar language. [/blockquote]

Jack Frost stood there staring at them and he tilted his head to the side. He was looking at the dragon, calling him Toothless. He watched the dragon run towards the roof of the building that Jack was just on and he smiled looking at the dragon. That was just too cool. Jack wished that he could have a dragon. He folded his arms across his chest and had his staff leaning to the right, resting on his right arm.
Jack looked at the boy who was walking closer to him. Jack knew that the boy had seen him so he wasn’t really trying hide from him anymore. Jack looked at him when he had said hello to him. “Hey there. Sweet dragon. Haven’t seen one before.” Jack commented to the boy with the dark brunette hair. He smiled to him.
Jack’s attention had turned to the dragon and he stared at him. He smiled at the dragon. Man, this was so cool. He loved every moment of this. He then turned back to the boy, trying to hide the giddy-ness that he had felt at this moment. “whats his name?” the child of winter asked the brunette boy. “I’m Jack Frost by the way.” Jack Frost then said to him with a smile.

Not just something to hold on to, because even though Toothless was currently engaged in the white haired boy in front of him, he was still aware of his best friend behind him. Immediately his heavily muscled tail swung around to catch the boy as he felt him bump against his scales, but ended up ghosting along the back of Hiccup's fur vest since Hiccup ended up finding his balance on his own. Ears twitching, Toothless cast a slightly worried side-ways glance just to double check that his friend was going to be alright, before returning to the stranger before him.
Toothless narrowed his eyes a bit at the boy in a suspicion as he greeted Hiccup. Green eyes searched the boy from head to toe. For a dragon who used to Viking hair colors, which were normally dark with an occasional blonde or two, seeing a boy with white hair was just weird. It was also kind of strange that the boys clothes shimmered in the sun when he moved like how the snow would shimmer on Berk (which was a lot of the time since Berk was usually always covered in some form of percipitaion). The weirdest bit about it though had to be that this boy did not smell like how a normal human smelled; crisp and cold and fresh like fallen snow.
However, despite all this, Toothless refuesed to believe that it was this boy that he had seen. Why, simply because it couldn't have been this boy was flying off of roofs for this boy did not have wings! And every dragon knew from the moment they hatched that wings were for flying.
Toothless cocked an eyebrow at the stick the boy leaned against, but began to loose some interest now, glancing away at some of the people that were whispering and huddled to his right, leaving it all to Hiccup now. However, he still vaguely paid attention, enough to listen to what was going on anyway. Jack Frost huh? How fitting for a boy who smelled like, and hair the color of, snow.

[14 year old Hiccup)
The Boy before the pair was unlike any boy Hiccup had ever seen, he was tall and slender.. and had hair as white as the snow that covered Berk.. even the boy's skin looked just as white.. Maybe he was ill? Not sure of what to make of the stranger, Hiccup stood and stared at him for a long moment as if evaluating him. Was he friend or foe? Before he knew it the boy started mentioning about dragons.. having not seen them before.. well. That was a given considering none of the people here appeared to of seen a dragon before, if the whispers and many pointing fingers were anything to go by.
"Uh.. Toothless... I mean, his name is Toothless." Hiccup commented just to make sure that he didn't sound too crazy... Then the boy introduced himself as Jack Frost, where had he heard that name before? It sounded familiar.. yet the boy before him didn't spark any sort of recognition. How strange. Glancing towards Toothless beside of him, the pair shared a look. None of them knew what to make of this boy.. Looking back towards Jack, Hiccup bobbed his head. "Hi.. I'm Hiccup, Hiccup Haddock. Your not.. from around here are you?" Hiccup questioned bluntly, there was just something about the boy that retained Hiccup's interest.
For one.. the boy didn't seem at all that old.. yet he was tall and certainly confident. That was something Hiccup envied. Confidence, that was something he lacked at the best of times, and there was a large difference between confidence and bravery. The fact that the boy was bare foot, held a stick.. and seemed oblivious to his surroundings only seemed to increase interest.. maybe he was just mad and lost? Who in their right mind would forget their shoes??

Jack Frost still stared at the two and just continued to think about how cool this all was, how awesome it was to actually see a real dragon. He didn’t know if they even existed. He knew that yetis had existed and elves and Santa but not dragons. Jack Frost continued to look at Hiccup who was still staring at him the both of them as well as the dragon. This was a very awkward feeling a very awkward thing for the child of winter.
The brunette kid had said that the dragons name is toothless. That’s an odd name for a dragon, unless the dragon actually had no teeth. Jack took a step closer to them and as he stepped, the ground had frozen where his feet touched. He was risking it, wanting to take a closer look. If they didn’t like it they would both take a step back from Jack. “huh, that’s an odd name for a dragon, don’t you think? Sorry, I hate to be so blunt.” The child of winter said with a small shrug.
The boy had introduced himself as Hiccup Haddock and had then asked if Jack was from around here. Jack shook his head. “nope and neither are you I am assuming?” Jack had asked and he leaned up against the staff that he had held.

Toothless was brought back when he heard the sound of ice forming on the ground. Green eyes dropped to the other boys feet and narrowed. Since when did humans do that either? Toothless leaned down to watch the ice crystals as they formed, wanting to sniff, but he had learned his lesson the last time he had sniffed a human's feet. So he stuck to just looking.
Then Jack was making a crack about his name. The dragon shot his head back up and glared at the other, growling in a disgruntled way. A very obvious 'well, excuse me,' even to the strangers who did not know Toothless as well as Hiccup did. He shook his head a little and turned towards Hiccup, asking if the boy could believe that with only his expression.
He turned back now and his attention was turned back to Jacks staff. The only humans Toothless had seen carrying sticks like that were the old ones who needed a little help walking, which made him confused. Jack didn't look like he needed help walking... Stepping foreword, now meeting Jack half way, nostrils flaring as he tilted his head to the right and tried to lean in and sniff Jack's staff. It shimmered just like the boys vest, and it Toothless was beginning to realize that this Jack was just made of ice wasn't he?[/size]
