Dorian looked all about, still tired and trying to process everything that was happening around him. He still did not know this intruder and though he was used to it, did not understand why Ruby was in this state of undress. He could see that under her gaze this stranger wasn't going to last long, lest he did something that appeased her, and he wished to quell her temper but it was likely unnecessary. She knew what she was doing. He was just here for her delight. He was her toy and her lover, little more. She loved him. And he tried to love her back. But he was just a cursed soul, a damned being. He turned his face back to Ruby. Outside, she was watching something.... Ogres? No, no. Damn it. Not again. The intruder had already left.
His face grew grave and Dorian shook his head. "Are you going after them too?" She had suddenly pressed herself against him and he was taken a bit by surprise. He hugged her for a moment, replying gently, "As I love you." Her words were unmistakable and Dorian knew what was coming. He ran a hand across her face and looked her in those gorgeous green eyes. She was going to help. "Don't you dare hurt yourself, Ruby Red." He meant it. He would go to the barn and get his own mount to help her... No! He would stay up in the tower and get out his crossbow. That he could do. That was the most help he could be in this situation. He released her. "Go. I will support you."
He left and went to the tower.
