Jareth, the Goblin King ruler of the Labyrinth, looked around the forest that he had just appeared in. the tall man was annoyed, angered at the fact that he had been taken away from his home. He folded his arms across his chest as he tried to decide on what he should do next. None of his goblins were here with him which made things a little more difficult since he didn’t have his army and didn’t know what kind of dangers would befall the near immortal man.
Jareth made one of his crystal orbs appear in his hand and he tossed it up in the air and watched it float away. He made a second one appear so that he could scout the area, with out having to move at all. He needed to keep himself safe, and not knowing what land he was in and how he even got here, being a powerful sorcerer himself, he wanted to be extra cautious. All that he was able to see was a city. That would be a good start for the Goblin King. He had transformed himself into the white barn owl and flew off.
The Goblin King looked around the city that he had just entered, in the form of an owl. He knew that this was a land that was very distant from his own which made him worry a lot more. A land more distant made his mind wander to the love that he still felt for Sarah, a love that she never returned that made the Goblin King puzzled. He wondered if he would ever be able to return to her world, but wondered if he appeared here she would too.
Jareth landed on the roof of a building and he looked around, still not revealing himself.

Sarah rich laughter echoed throughout the park, Toby's deeper much more prominent laugh echoing behind her as he chased her. Sarah darted this and way and that avoided his reaching fingers, but just barely, until finally, with an angered growl, he lunged and caught her around the waist. The two of them tumbled through the grass, laughing and wrestling the whole way until finally they drew to a stop, panting and short for breath.
"Sarah! We have to do this more often! I miss this!" He playfully shoved her and she laughed, eyes gleaming with mischief. "I agree, remember when dad wasn't suddenly to old to join us?" She rolled her eyes dramatically and flopped onto her back, starring up at the sky, Toby jumped to his feet and Sarah cocked a brow at him. Too old huh? Not for long! Sarash chuckled and sat up as Toby took off towards their pop. She sighed and moved to stand, when thick vines, pulled free from the earth, coiling around her arms and legs, winding around her torso.
"Toby!" She screamed for a brother and was vaguely aware of him skidding to a halt as he turned around to face her, eyes widening in fear as he tore back towards her. The vines pulled her down into the earth and she screamed, clawing at the grass to no avail. "Sarah!" Her name in Toby's voice was the last thing she heard before everything went black.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~`
Sarah blinked, groaning softly as she tried to fight against the wicked glare of the sun. A hand rose to her head as she tried to remember what she had been doing... playing tag with Toby and then... she gasped, sitting upright and only increasing the pounding headache in her brain. For now it was ignored. She spun around, beneath her dirt roads, around her cobblestone houses, wooden huts and was that... a castle? Just where was she? Instinctively she looked for the Labyrinth, for Jareth, but just as quickly her hope was destroyed. There was no maze of stone and her Goblin King was nowhere to be found.
She sighed softly. Great... another world, and this time without allies. She glanced around the odd city and glanced down at her own clothes. A white tank top, blue jeans, and sneakers... well that wasn't getting her very far. With a fiercely determined look, she stepped forward. For now, all she could do was start walking.
Jareth the Goblin king, still as an owl looked around. He was still resting and then flew up to a tree branch and looked around some more. This place was definitely not the Underground and that made the Goblin King worry a great deal. He wasn’t happy that he had been taken out of his home like that and dropped somewhere that he knew nothing about. He wondered if it was of his enemies, someone who wants the Goblin King to suffer and to die. No matter. Jareth knew that he would over come this, that he would defeat who ever dared challenge him.
Jareth then took flight again. He loved to spread his wings. He wondered if his enemy knew that he was actually some what enjoying this place. That would probably make his enemy angry. Jareth loved to make people angry, it was sort of his talent. The Goblin King had then landed on a tree branch when he saw a familiar brunette. He sat there, waiting and watching.
She was surprised, stunned, bewildered by this strange place, it was like... she had been transported to the medieval era... but how? And more importantly...why? What was this place? She was confused and lost, but with her age had come a maturity that she had not possessed in her youth. The younger Sarah would be pouting, claiming how unfair life was and throwing a hissy fit, the older, much more mature version of herself glanced about skeptically. Confusion reigned more so than anger. She chewed her bottom lip debating what exactly she should do... try and seek help? But what if she was met with pointed swords? Sarah was a great many things but a fighter was not one of them.
The gentle flapping of wings drew her attention and she turned, her eyes seeking the barn owl that hovered in the trees. A gentle smile curled her mouth, satisfied that it, at least, would not hurt her. She felt it silly, conversing with an owl when an entire town lay before her, but then again she had always been a touch odd. "You remind me of an old friend of mine." She spoke gently, softly, not wanting to frighten the animal. Her gaze fell, suddenly sad and she frowned, biting her bottom lip. "I spoke horrible things to him though, I don't think he will ever return to me." She realized she was talking to an owl and with a soft sigh, turned to leave.
Jareth the Goblin King still sat there, still as an owl. He didn’t want anyone to see him, he didn’t want to be found. He was in the trees staring at a young girl. She is the very young girl who had beaten him, who had beaten the Labyrinth with the help of her friends and taken her baby brother back from him. Jareth was bitter about it but it wasn’t a bad kind of bitter. He was partially relieved that she had beaten him because when she had left him it made Jareth realize how much he really loved her, how much he cared for her and never really left her side, he watched her while in this form, while in the form of an owl.
Jareth looked at her as she spoke. She had told him that he reminded her of someone she called a friend. He was a friend of hers? He wondered why, after everything he had done to her. She had then said that he probably wouldn’t return to her. Jareth felt bad, though he had always come back for her. Jareth flew down from the tree and landed on the girls shoulder. He still didn’t want to return to his other form yet, maybe she would say something else to show that she truly cared for him.
He had hooted to her, showing that he was a friendly owl and wondered what she was going to do next or where she was going to go.
She turned from her feathered companion, this place was so utterly foreign to her. No Streets or roads, no power lines or cars, it looked like something straight out of her Renaissance fairs that she attended, she almost felt out of place in her jeans and a tank top. This had to be a dream right? She had wished upon no Goblins King, nor any other magical being for that matter. She had been playing with Toby and then... nothing. So where was she, and how had she gotten here? It was all so strange to her. Catching her bottom lip between her teeth, she glanced about the place. Vendors, shops, food, clothing, jewels... everything was here. People shouting, screaming, she was tucked out of sight, a bit in a back alley and she glanced about nervously. Truthfully... she didn't want to be here. It was making her uneasy, scared.
The fluttering of wings pulled her attention away from the bustling market. before she could react her feathered friend had seated itself upon her shoulder, wings folding across its back elegantly he hooted softly at her and she laughed. Tentatively she lifted a hand to stroke the top of its head, running her fingers through its soft as sin feathers, a gentle frown tugging at her lips.
"What are you doing awake at this hour? Don't you know you are supposed to be sleeping?" Her gaze drifted back to the crowd, wishing she hadn't when a woman pulled up her skirts and revealed far too much of herself for a slab of meat. "Actually... I think I will chance the back streets." She turned and began walking in the opposite direction, away from the noise and the craze. She sighed softly, a soft smile ghosting across her mouth.
"You know when I was a little girl, all I ever wanted was an adventure. I was always had a thing for the bad guys though, I always wanted the girl to choose him over the prince." She laughed lightly, but her smile faltered slightly. "I had my adventure, my kid brother, Toby, I wished him away in a haze of selfish greed. I was so stupid! I forced myself to choose between love or a family member. I should have wished myself away, I would have lived forever with the only man...no fae, I've ever loved." It was truth, she had dated on and off throughout the years, but those mismatched eyes would not leave her. "Oh...Ill shut up, the last thing you want to hear is me prattling on about-" Her words were silenced as something hard and strong collided with her back, a gasp of pain ripped itself from her throat and she crashed into the dirt, the owl leaving her shoulder. Her back screamed in agony and she turned her head, eyes widening at the brutes that stood before her.
"Heh... tell us again about your prince girly. Did he wear tights? Wield a wooden stick?" There were four of them, muscular, large, powerful, and one of them carried a rather large and brutish styled club, obviously what he had used to strike her with. She didn't answer him, attempting to scramble away back up and onto her feet, to no avail. Quick as a whip, one of them grabbed her legs, dragging her back to them and stepping between them, reaching for the belt of her pants. "Ill be your prince Charming little lady. Rodney, hold her down." The largest grabbed her arms, holding her still. Sarah thrashed and struggled and fought but she was too small and they were too large.
Sarah screamed.
Jareth the Goblin King had just sat on top of Sarah’s shoulder, looking around. She was here and he was happy that she is here. He needed to know that he wasn’t dreaming though. Whoever had brought the Goblin King to this world had brought the one person he cared more about than himself. That made the man furious. Jareth looked around and tried to pick out enemies, tried to see if there was anyone watching both of them.
Sarah had started talking to Jareth and he didn’t do anything, he didn’t hoot or change. The Goblin King just sat on her shoulders and waited until something had unfolded itself. He continued to hear her talk but he wasn’t listening. He was an owl right now and not in his natural form, so animals usually don’t have to listen to humans.
The next thing the Goblin King knew was that Sarah was on the ground, and he was beside her, flapping his wings and landing perfectly and gracefully. They started taunting Sarah and that made the Goblin King more furious. The owl watched the men and one went at Sarah and grabbed her. Jareth watched as the one man reached for the belt of her pants, and with the sudden change, the elegant King of the Goblins had changed from his owl form into his real form.
The Goblin King had grabbed the one man from behind, holding him up by the back of his neck. “does it look like I wear tights?” Jareth asked him with a devilish smile, and out of nowhere, the laughter of Goblins was now in the air around them. “and I don’t wield a wooden stick but rather magic and an army of goblins.” He said in a taunting way, throwing the man over his shoulder so effortlessly. He then turned to face him again, his back was now to Sarah.
Jareth made an orb appear in his hand and allowed it to move along his hand. “I will give you two choices, all of you leave now unharmed, or you face me and my army.” Jareth was now standing over him. “believe me, I am not an easy foe to defeat.”
