Heather followed Toothless, she enjoyed being able to move without conflict and deep inside she felt like Toothless when he met her, excited, curious and full of wonder. She was still in her dragon form, now that she thought about most of the time she ever went dragon she was always in conflict. Conflict, battles, danger, those were always when she would lose control.
But since she found toothless...or rather he found her, she didn't even think about it really, she felt safe comfortable, and in fact she has so much fun. Back where she came from if you where a half breed you where lower then dirt...nothing but to have toothless openly accept her, play with her and love every minute. It touched her deeply acceptance, trust, a friend. Those things always meant so much to her. She was thinking about it so much she forgot to duck her head and ran smack into a branch with a grunt, she thought to herself,"smooth..."She let out a warble like laugh before resuming. She did envy one thing toothless had, this height, he rarely ran into branches, as she looked up a beautiful crystal clear lake sat among the clearing.
This made heather very happy one...no more running into branches, and two a place for a drink. Out of the corner of her eye a fish jumped making the water ripple and she remembered toothless liked fish. She moved over to the edge of the lake, she thought she would surprise toothless with some fish as well as this Hiccup person, She lowered her head and watched the fish, she was going to try and catch some trying to block out what was going to be done....when a fish popped out of the water and smacker her in the face with its tail. She snorted and had the "what the heck" on her face and shook the water off. It was kind of funny to her. She wasn't about to let the fish get the better of her as she waited tail thumping softly glued to the spot of silver lights, she was GOING to get that fish, before pouncing into the water with razor sharp teeth she hit the water hard, waved rippling from the side of her body. The one thing that echoed in her mind when she hit the water was... COLD!!!

Toothless began the trek through the forest that lead to Hiccup and his meeting place, his heart fluttering at the very idea of introducing his best friend to his new one. The walk was a silent one, but it was companionable silence, Toothless often glancing up at her with a gentle hum in his throat before looking back at the greens and browns of the forest before him. The sudden sound of leaves rattling above him and the flight of panicked birds was the only bump along their trip, but a humorous one. One that made Toothless grumble in amusement with her, even though his green eyes did automatically worry about injury when he turned.
Finally they made it through the clearing, where the water sat still as glass, and the sun beat down on the warm earth underneath his claws. The birds sang in the canopies above, beautiful trills and whistles, and the wind gently swayed the grass on the bank, making them dance with delight. Toothless trotted foreword towards the water, not even looking out for any danger because he was comfortable here. This is where he had spent some afternoons with his friend, playing and testing the new and improved saddle, and it gave the lake such a soft glow in his eyes and heart. Plus, Heather was here, and for some reason he felt safe when she was so close.
He settled down and lapped at the water, the coolness soothing and wonderful. He looked up when he heard Heather join him, smiling up at her in contentment. Toothless was about to say something and finally break their comfortable and companionable silence, when he noticed she was lowering her head to the water. Green eyes followed her gaze, pupils immediately widening as he watched the fish languidly swish their tails through the water. His muscles coiled where he sat crouched on the bank, flickering his eyes back and forth between Heather and the fish with interest.
She was gonna catch it! The fish leaped right out of the water and Toothless' excitement leaped with it. He yapped excitedly, cheering her on. She was gonna--! A sudden smack, a wet thunk. Oh. Toothless' face became one of surprise, watching the offending fish slip back into the water unharmed, and then traveling back up to her face. He was hit with a bad case of the dragon giggles then, growls and clicks, at the expression she was wearing. ”Good try,” he offered in encouragement.
And then she was leaping into the water, a beautiful display of her power as her legs propelled herself off the ground and through the air. Toothless watched with some awe, but it was loosing a very quick battle to the joy in his heart. He let out a delighted warble as the cold splashes drenched his scales, shaking his head to clear his eyes. And then he followed her, haunches wiggling like a cat before he used his own powerful legs to leap into the water beside her.
So lost in this sudden game, and the wonderful feeling of playing in the water with a friend, that Toothless didn't hear the sound of his rider approaching.

What a dream! It felt like a story had unfolded within his head, a very long exciting and crazy story too! He couldn't wait to tell Toothless.. he didn't know how to explain what it was that had just happened to him, but he felt different. Like he had lived those stories.. It was so strange that he didn't know what to make of it. Yet if he could find Toothless then they could maybe together find someone who knew? Rubbing his head, Hiccup got to his feet. His head pounded and his heart raced, as he begun to walk he tripped slightly. What was all that about? he had grown use to his leg now yet it felt like everything was out of proportion. Shrugging it off to be nothing more than the after math of a great sleep. Hiccup wondered on through the forest into the direction he knew Toothless had gone.
It was just after he had climbed over a long did he feel something long and metallic clang against his leg. Frowning he paused and looked down.. a sword!? he had a sword? where did he get it? He was pretty sure that he hadn't had a sword when he slept. Just then as if on instinct his left hand reached for it.. wait what? he was right handed surely? He drew with his left but he'd never wielded a sword in his left hand. Stopping he brought his hands together to examine them through squinted eyes. They looked like his hands.. in fact he was sure they were his hands given the amount of freckles that dotted the back of them. Yet, wait.. what was that Turning over his left arm he saw what appeared to be a blade.. hidden. What had happened.. flexing his wrist the knife popped out. A retractable knife? this was just too cool...
Wait till Toothless saw this! Picking up speed he carried on through the forest.. he even appeared to cover more ground, laughing somewhat at the new found items and discoveries Hiccup grinned, ahead he could hear splashing and a grumble of voices.. well Dragons. His heart raced as he carried on and crashed though the forest before him there was Toothless and a.. companion? Another dragon? "Toothless! You'd never believe what happened-"

The water poured over her head as she finally pulled her head out of the water, man was it cold...but so worth it. A wriggling fish squirmed, she managed to grab it only by the tip of its tail. That would show no fish could just smack her around, she turned and moved from the water and placed the fish on the shore. She returned to Toothless's direction and returned with a proud face,"Ha I got it...here you go Toothless I know you like fish..."When toothless joined her she could resist slashing him slightly with her tail. But then came a voice she didn't recognize, it was a males voice. Her head swiftly turned to see a young man around the age of 14 or at least a teen approaching, was this the Hiccup Toothless told her about. His appearance was a bit odd, then again who was she to talk with her odd clothes and such. Still meeting someone new made her a bit timid, with toothless it felt less frightening because he was a dragon, odd but it true. Her gaze never left the young man, her wings tucked in. She looked toward Toothless falling along with some similar sound of grunt and chirps,"Is this the person you call Hiccup?" She slowly moved from the water , her claws sinking into the mud a bit but still curious about the young man herself.

She caught him a fish! Happiness in the little dragon swelled, looking at the shore where the fish flopped teasingly in the dirt, and then back up to her where he yipped and his wings trembled; just like that of a newly hatched dragon chick. ”Thank you! Toothless very grateful!” Really! It was the best gift anyone could give him, because it was hard for him to catch fish on his own without flying, and it was also really thoughtful of the other; thinking about his welfare. And now he hoped in the water in front of her, back and forth, tail weaving in the water. ”That fish signed own death wish trying to smack Heather around! It didn't stand a chance against Heather!”
And it just seemed like this day was going to get better. Toothless suddenly looked around Heather's crimson scales back at the forest at the first sound of his friend, letting out a warble in excitement and immediately bounding clumsily back through the water. Excitement blinded him at first, the joy of play making everything seem so out of focus. So much so that it crashed violently into him, shattering like glass when Hiccup finally looked up and green eyes met green.
Claws dug into the earth as Toothless came to a halt, at first just staring, chest heaving violently as he sniffed the air. It smelled like Hiccup... Toothless narrowed his eyes, pupils slowly shrinking in his own. Those eyes that stared back at him, those were Hiccup's. And that voice, that voice that Toothless was familiar with, a voice that filled him with such glee and was a beacon of hope when he was lost in the darkness. That voice came from the boy and it was Hiccup's. But this... this! (And yes, he gestured to all of him). This was not Hiccup!
Toothless curled his lip back suddenly, fury erupting and leaping out of his chest in snarl that vibrated through his entire body. ” Impostor! He hissed, arching his back. Yet, the Night Fury began to pace, back and forth in front of the boy, green eyes searching him up and down, brows furrowed and confused; suffering. He even had the prosthetic like Hiccup.
”Hiccup doesn't carry swords! Hiccup is small! Toothless doesn't care if impostor smells or looks like Hiccup, because impostor is not Hiccup!” Toothless roared, meant as a reply to Heather, but it came out more like a battle against himself. And yet, even as he felt that ugly and bitter anger tear through him, longing to tear his teeth and claws into this impostor for having the nerve to try and be Hiccup, there was an overwhelming force that kept him in place. Protective and affectionate. Toothless shook his head and took a step back towards Heather now. He didn't know she had followed him, and so he ended up bumping against her, but he was comforted by that presence.

His words were cut short, as Toothless hissed at him.. hissed at him? what was the matter with him? did he not recognize him? Hiccup's bright green eyes searched Toothless's own.. what was up with him? he seemed different.. as if he was faced with a complete stranger. Hiccup watched dumbfounded for a long moment as Toothless sniffed the air around him.. what was he doing? Of course it was him! Suddenly a snarl erupted from his friend, one that had Hiccup recoiling a fraction. A confused expression glanced across his face.. what was with his friend? Why was he acting in such a way, at first Hiccup thought it was something behind him, yet the way in which Toothless looked right at him, had Hiccups heart pounding. Then.. all of a sudden a word.. a single word erupted from Toothless.. and he understood it! whereas there would of been many occasions in which Hiccup would be delighted at such a discovery as far as things went...now really was not the time.
"T-Toothless.." Hiccup said surprised, what had gotten into him!? Hiccup watched further as Toothless paced and looked at him, really looked at him. Then Hiccup froze... there was something different no longer did Toothless look at him with trust or love.. no this was something else.. this.. this was hatred! In that moment Hiccup felt his chest grow tight.. what had he done to upset his friend? As he pondered this, Toothless spoke again.. in awe at this Hiccup blinked.. maybe this was another dream too? some nightmare? maybe he was still actually fast asleep? Hiccup is small? Such words caught Hiccup by surprise.. he was still the same! Why would he be any different? Gulping, Hiccup stared at Toothless there within his eyes he saw his reflection. Turning Hiccup ran towards the river, fell to his hands and knees and peered over the bank into the river. Green eyes met with Green eyes...
Yet Toothless was right, this was him but not him. Memorized by the sight before him, Hiccup brought his hands up to his face.. yes it was his nose.. his hair his jaw, his cheek. Yet his face was slightly rounder than before.. he had a small pony tail to the side of his head. What.. what was this? "No No no.. this is a dream, HAS to be a dream..wake up, wake up!" Hiccup shouted to himself as he splashed water on his face.. Still he remained the same. Scrambling backwards Hiccup's breath was heavy, his heart raced and his chest tightened. Then it came to him.. that dream.. those memories in a flood everything came to him. He was 18.. 18! What happened to 4 year! 4 Years! he was sure he hadn't wasted four years! Yet the memories kept on coming.. he hadn't wasted four years, this was him AFTER 4 years. His head swam.. this was surreal.. it was impossible.
For a long moment he sat there and looked towards both Toothless and his companion. What could he say..? "T-Toothless, Bud.. it's me.. it really is me" he gulped his voice for a moment broke, Even Toothless didn't recognize him.. he couldn't loose his friend he just couldn't! Remaining where he sat as he held the gaze of his friend, Hiccup slowly extended his arm, his palm outstretched.. why could Toothless not see?

Toothless action made Heather tilt her head, this wasn't Hiccup? She could smell the scent from the saddle it did match the young man, but according to Toothless it couldn't have been him. Heather debated on what to do...should she inter-vein or see how this played out, soon the glimmer of the sword caught her eye, she wasn't going to allow toothless to be hurt if he made any advancement in his investigation, with that said she moved slowly watching the young man before moving her tail quickly, coiling around the hilt of the blade and tossing it to the ground away from him.
Now she returned to her position near Toothless , if there was a fight then she would rather guard Toothless's back knowing how vulnerable the back is to a dragon. Soon she subconsciously growled softly , she shook her head trying to not lose it, the thought of a fight was almost pulling her concentration from her, she regained her composure and moved her view back to the young man. Something seemed...off...if this boy really was a threat then..why did his eyes have terror in them.. she knew that look all to well.

Toothless backed a little further into Heather, tail curled around him, watching Hiccup as he moved with narrowed eyes that were dark and full of rage. He watched the other head to the water, watched him touch his own face in shock, watched him get overwhelmed by panic. It tugged at his heart strings suddenly, automatically, and Toothless stomped his right foot as if he was trying to snuff that feeling out physically. This was not Hiccup! He should not feel that way!
Heather left him and for a moment Toothless panicked, needing her while faced the stranger who was looking back at him. How dare he even call him by name. How dare he try and convince him! Toothless knew his best friend, knew his best friend better than anyone on Berk, probably even better than Hiccup knew himself! Shaking his head, the Night Fury suddenly spread his wings as if prepared to lunge, lifting one of his paws. Yet, it trembled in the air, and the sound of his attacking roar choked in his throat. He knew this was not Hiccup. This couldn't be him. And yet... every time hate and rage consumed him, Toothless felt guilt and he felt pain, and it stole his breath and made him freeze.
It wasn't until after Heather returned that Toothless had realized what she had done, and he dared not turn his gaze away from the boy-- no, young man, in front of him. He grumbled and hummed in a silent thanks however. She stilled some of that fire in him, helped him catch his breath, made some of the tightness in his muscles begin to loosen. Her warmth was like the comfort of a mothers wing as she folded it over her chicks to keep them safe, and Toothless wanted to back up into it again, craving that familiarly.
He didn't though, because suddenly the impostor had raised his palm. Toothless stopped growling, ridges slowly rising on his face, looking first at that hand and then to the broken expression on the strangers face. On Hiccup's face. Toothless took a hesitant step foreword, one foot slowly after the other, but every part of his body tense and ready to bolt. There was a slow grumble in his throat, low pitched, timid. Green eyes looked at Hiccup in a mixture of confusion, pain, and subtle recognition. Only Hiccup knew about this... only Hiccup would hold out his hand like that to him. Only Hiccup could have a look on his face that made Toothless' chest ache. Hiccup. This was Hiccup. Toothless could see it now.
Toothless' green eyes traveled back to the boys palm, breathing fast, and his heart thundering. Another step closer, and now he could just reach out, bowing his head, feeling the soft warmth of the boys finger in the air. That's when he saw it, the cold silver of a dagger, glinting off the light and thirsty for blood. All that recognition, all that trust, it disappeared in an instant. Toothless recoiled from him with a snarl, jerking his head and snapping his jaws. Yet, he did not try and bite the young mans hand, no matter how much his eyes were burning with the lust for it, his instincts and memories of war and battle with such things suddenly coming out from deep within him.
But more importantly, Toothless did not run away. Instead he stood expectantly, ears flattened, watching the others every move. He had caught a glimpse of Hiccup, his Hiccup, the old Hiccup (and that struck him with a bitter irony) and it had glued him where he was, because he longed to see that again. If even for just a second.

Before Hiccup knew what had happened the sword was plucked from it's hilt and flung some several yards away. Yet despite that, Hiccup didn't care nor did he mind. Although he felt an attachment to the sword, what was important at that moment was that Toothless didn't want to know him.. hated him almost. That thought, that single thought hurt more than any sword to the chest, or any loss of a limb. The fact that his friend.. his best friend didn't trust him.. could barely stand to go near him left a bitter aftertaste in his mouth and caused his chest to ache. As if his heart bit by bit was being chipped away into tiny pieces. Gulping still Hiccup held out his hand palm spread wide, as he waited with baited breath he watched as his friend inched closer.. although he was indeed aware of the other dragon, Hiccup dared stray his gaze away from Toothless..
After slow agonizing moments, Hiccup eyes widened as he gazed to Toothless.. his nose mere inches from his outstretched fingers. In response Hiccup held his breath as that spark of recognition ignited within his friend, maybe just maybe...Then Toothless snorted, his eyes had narrowed and he pulled his head away. Hiccup had seen what Toothless had, Pulling his hand back Hiccup grabbed at the blade yanked at it and pulled at it till it finally came off, from his wrist slowly he threw it away towards where the sword lay. How could he get Toothless to see? At that moment Hiccup didn't know who to trust.. or if he could even trust Toothless, he had snapped his jaws towards him which had caused Hiccups hand to recoil.
Slowly he got to his feet, white teeth bit his lower lip and pain was evident.. Toothless didn't know him.. didn't trust him. Hiccup could see the pain and uncertainty within his friend.. afraid yet angry at the same time, such emotions made a dragon dangerous, Hiccup knew this from experience. He just hoped that it wasn't too late to close the gap, before the gap became even wider.
Then, Hiccup did the only thing he could think of.. slowly once again he outstretched his now naked arm towards Toothless.. Glancing to his friend for a long moment, Hiccup sucked in a low breath and turned his head to the side, his eyes shut tightly as he looked away. Toothless could bite his hand for all he cared.. refuse it even. Yet Hiccup was determined to prove to his friend that he was holding onto that trust, that hope that Toothless would recognize him. With his eyes squeezed shut Hiccup waited.. his heart pounded within his chest, and his chest ached. He didn't know what he would do without his friend, he needed Toothless beside him.. Hiccup didn't even know himself any more.. yet he hoped Toothless would see, so that Hiccup could hold onto that part of him he thought he had lost.

The air was tense, no thicker, you could cut it just by moving your finger through the air. She watched as the young man ripped his hand away for a moment when toothless snapped his jaw at him, she knew it was a warning, but that look...she knew that look in his eyes. That look of devastation, the loss of something precious, it was the same look she had when she watch her family get slaughtered by demons back in her world. She quickly shook her head to free herself of that thought, but those eyes...she coiled her tail near toothless to ease the tension, then the young man did something that reminded her of herself whenever she saw a dragon, he reached out with open and welcoming arms. She was almost dumbstruck, she cocked her head to the side, he was actually trying to show toothless he wasn't a enemy. She gazed down at Toothless, she could see it the confusion, there was something he found familiar. Deciding to break the tension she moved forward to the young man and besides her better judgment, she knew how much toothless trusted her and if this young man didn't attack her, then it was plausible that this may have been this hiccup Toothless was so fond of.

Suddenly Toothless was back in the cove, looking at a ruffled head of chestnut hair that gleamed red whenever the sun touched it just right, at a boy who was terrified and utterly defenseless, reaching out with an open palm. Toothless could have ripped that boys arm off, torn him to shreds in that cove, let the boy's light and wonder seep out of him slowly like the darkness that was slowly beginning to take the land then, drenching the world in purples and oranges and stretching shadows. Yet, in the face of this sincerity, and the amazement of the boys risk, Toothless felt something in him come loose and open. Under this boys light, Toothless stepped out of the darkness that he hidden in for so long.
The Night Fury looked now at the young man before him, found himself back at the lake. He was vaguely aware of the sound of Heather moving behind him, closer to the stranger as if trying to ease it, moving her tail around him in such a comforting way. Everything about the situation was different and yet... that sincerity and that risk, that breath Hiccup took in terror at being so defenseless. Toothless blinked at the fingers held out in front of him. He could do anything he wanted to Hiccup, and Hiccup would let it happen, and that was a powerful sensation. No, Hiccup was gently asking Toothless to trust him, was laying his very life on the line for it.
And it was in that moment that Toothless saw Hiccup.
He hesitated, leaned foreword a fraction and stalled, before obsidian lids completely covered his eyes and he let go. The warm dry scales of Toothless' nose gently bumped against Hiccup's warm fingers, and the dragons brows furrowed in pain. They were too big, his palm was too rough. Hiccups hands were different. What had happened to his friend? Why was he like this? It had only been a couple of hours since Toothless had last saw him! Slowly those lids opened again, looking Hiccup in the eye with a trust that was wavering. This was Hiccup, his Hiccup yet... at the same time it wasn't. An overwhelming sadness crippled him at the thought, and Toothless almost wanted to press his nose harder into Hiccup's hand, begging for comfort.
Instead he pulled back, and with a whoosh of his wings Toothless had whirled around and started heading back towards Heather's side, wind disturbing some of the hair on Hiccup's head. He shook his head and his wings, suddenly exhausted. ”Heather, this is...” He paused now standing beside the other dragon, greens eyes looking back over at Hiccup with a gaze that was uncertain and searching. ”... this is Hiccup.”

Hiccup kept his eyes shut tightly, as he awaited the final decision. Then.. suddenly Hiccup felt the smooth scales of Toothless's nose as he pressed it against his hand, at first Hiccup wanted to wince yet slowly he opened his eyes and turned around to face his friend, slowly lowering his hand. Trust was there.. he could still see it.. feel it almost, yet it was stretched thin. Clearly he had his work cut out..and he didn't know where to start. Watching for a long moment, Hiccup watched as Toothless turned around and headed towards the large dragon, the wind brushing his hair lightly. Hiccup finally turned his gaze towards the bigger dragon, she was clearly magnificent, in fact she was similar to the Monsterous Nightmare.. if not more.. motherly? He didn't know how to describe the scene before him, yet Hiccup could see that his friend took comfort in her.
She was a friend of Toothless's and therefore a friend of his.. or so he hoped. Hearing the introduction, Hiccup sucked in a deep breath.. was it too soon to tell Toothless what he had discovered? Well.. better now than later he supposed. With slow movements, Hiccup turned to face the large dragon now, glancing at Toothless then back to her Hiccup spoke. "Hello Heather.." he greeted, hesitant now of his actions.. he'd have to tread carefully around Toothless for a while.. who knew how long it would take until that trust was built up again. Looking back toward his friend he sighed.. he looked.. smaller now, yet despite his size his respect for his friend was great.. 4 years! 4 years where had it all gone? what had happened? Why was he as he was..? Was there some reason? Looking back to the female, Hiccup studied her for a long moment.. there was something different about her.. as if she wasn't a dragon but at the same time was... they way she acted.. the way she reached for his sword.. it was to.. humanly almost that it certainly intrigued him. "It's a pleasure to meet you" he commented, although he didn't know how to.. greet this particular dragon. At that point, Hiccup looked towards his sword and his gauntlet. what to do with them? He didn't want to freak Toothless out any more, or give him any reason to distrust him.. Toothless's trust he new was hanging on by a mere thread. Slowly, Hiccup made his way over towards the items..he couldn't leave them lying around after all, for he had that gut feeling that they were important.[/blockquote]

Heather smiled seeing Toothless introduce her to Hiccup, it was nice to be able to place a face to this name Toothless held with care and trust, she pondered for a moment, only to snap out of it by a timid voice of Hiccup, She let out a ruble of grunts and growls that began to form dragon words,"Its a pleasure, so your Hiccup now i have a name to add to all the things i have heard." She moved over and grabbed a bag and moved it over to where the sword and gauntlets lay placing it over them so that Hiccup could still keep the now confused and yet frail relationship he managed to connect with toothless, moving back over her tail causing dust to stir, until she sat down near Hiccup, she wondered, should she reveal her other form...or continue watching his reaction to this form and more importantly could he hand such a odd spectacle.
She looked to Toothless a smile gracing her lips, " Don't you worry toothless i have a idea of what may have occurred to Hiccup here...although it is only a theory."She wanted to bring back that happy nature she adored seeing, she knew Toothless was very concerned. Now she wanted to learn about Hiccup, she laid down near the young man. She was glad he wasn't darting off at the sight of her.

Toothless watched Hiccup closely, saw him take that deep breath that he usually did before he was about to face his father, timid and nervous. A part of him ached, wanting to hum comfortingly or lean against the boy to provide him comfort, but it hurt more to even think about moving. So instead he stayed, watching his friend with a gaze that he tried to keep mysterious and neutral, which was nearly impossible when suddenly Hiccup was making grumbling and growling noises that were similar to that of a dragon.
The Night Fury's eyes widened almost comically. When did Hiccup learn to do that!? Which meant that he had heard him then? Struck hard with guilt and a bitter satisfaction Toothless suddenly grew frustrated, narrowing his gaze and dropping it to the ground.
As the pleasantries continued Toothless sat down on his haunches, swallowing that dark and bitter feeling of hate and resentment. Wonderful things... if Toothless had known about his Hiccup had been like this then he would of...! He would of...! He wouldn't have said anything. Toothless grumbled under his breath darkly, ears flattening, searching the ground underneath him with claws that were violently tearing into the mud and grass.
Yet, despite his emotions, those ears lifted up automatically at the sound of the boy taking a step, responding on instinct. Green eyes watched the boy take a step towards his sword and gauntlet, curling his lips back in a soft growl. There was a tension in the air that began to rise again, however, before it could reach a zenith Heather was there, suddenly blocking those weapons from view and suddenly diverting the physical lightening that Toothless was shooting out of his angry leer. The Night Fury looked up at her, seeing her kindness, feeling a bit of his anger and bitterness start to fade away. Toothless took a deep breath, sighing through his nose.
Hearing that she might have an answer made his ears perk, and Toothless whined a little curiously. “Has Heather seen something like this is before?”

The female dragon spoke, Yet again Hiccup was reminded that her mannerisms didn't appear dragon like at all.. they was just too many similarities between her and a human. Frowning slightly, Hiccup gazed to her for a moment, maybe he was just imagining things now? Offering the dragon a somewhat semi-awkward smile, Hiccup then made his way towards the items. Yet before he could reach them he heard a sudden growl. Pausing Hiccup looked back to see Toothless growl.. as if warning.. it vaguely reminded Hiccup of the time when Toothless had attempted to draw, and each time Hiccup stepped on the line, Toothless would growl. So stopping mid way, Hiccup didn't dare reach for the items, this was later made clear when Heather covered them with her bag, placing her tail in between to act as a barrier.
Lifting his hands up, Hiccup raised them and took various cautious steps back. What was he going to do? With a sigh yet again, Hiccup sat down upon the river bank, his chin rested within his hands, as he looked rather forlorn. Here they were back at square one.. and all because he looked different.. four years later different, it was so strange that he didn't know what had happened, yet he had the memories and experiences.. yet at the same time he also felt like it had only been a couple of hours ago since he had seen Toothless. At a loss on what to do, Hiccup watched as the female one drew closer, and sat beside him. Watching her, with an intrigued expression Hiccup mere watched and blinked. This was.. unnatural, dragons were not creatures that easily trusted others.. the fact that this dragon had willing approached him was interesting.
Just then he heard her speak, she had seen it before? Hiccup's interest perked up, if Heather knew something then he hoped he'd share it.. he didn't know where to go from here when it came to Toothless. As he listened, and contemplated his next move, Hiccup picked up a twig.. from there he begun to draw... an idle picture.. something that would hopefully offer some inspiration. With his chin on his palm, he gazed to the floor, clearly deep in thought and brooding all the same. He didn't want Toothless to distrust him... or hate him for that matter.. he wanted them to be back to normal.. sure he was.. older and taller, but he was still the same Hiccup that he had always been, he knew that. He felt that.. the only task was to get Toothless to see that.
