She looked down at the young man and then back at Toothless,"You have to remember Toothless, Humans age faster then us dragons and it maybe possible that when he was flung into this world the aging process may have been delayed. This world is strange, almost magical, it is possible that either being drawn into this world aged him the same amount of years his home land has been without him. In fact time is still flowing back in your world and since he was here it delayed the effect until just a few moment ago. He is still the same person, just more...adult like."She knew this all to well back at her home world humans would age faster while she still only looked like a 21 year old and yet she was already 200.It baffled her at first until it was explained to her by the others.
She looked back at Hiccup who was now drawing in the dirt, he was pretty good but returned back to Toothless's confused gaze, Just because ones appearance changes, doesn't mean they aren't the same person as you have seen. This is just as hard on him as it if for you Toothless, age is a cruel joke in these predicament."
She cold see how weapons made Toothless uneasy so she thought she should try to explain that as well."Toothless, i noticed you don't seem to trust weapons, I didn't at first but then Kurama told me it is just a item, like the shiny objects, they have no meaning but to provide protection, for humans they are much more vulnerable and need the weapons to protect themselves, i don't excuse the fact that they in turn abuse that right on dragons and others, but what if this young man got separated and confronted with a wolf, and Toothless wasn't around to save him. How would he keep himself alive to reunite with you?" She hoped she was making sense she was never good at explaining things.

Toothless' expression began to sink further and further. She made perfect sense of course, but that wasn't the point. Hiccup had come here with him. Hiccup had just been with him hours ago! Hours! How could he have aged in just hours!? Was his world four years ahead? And if so, how come he hadn't changed too? He was still with Hiccup wasn't he? Hadn't he been? Toothless felt something inside of him ache at that. Oh, he hoped Heather's theory was wrong or somehow off because the only reason he wouldn't be with Hiccup is if he was...
Toothless glanced down at Hiccup, watching the twig move around in the dirt, ears turned towards Heather to let her know that he was still listening to her. “Toothless knows that...” the Night Fury whined gently. He knew this had to be hard on Hiccup too. “... But Toothless... it just...” He trailed off, sighing, shaking his head in a frustrated way, similar to how someone might run their hand through their hair. “Toothless can't.”
Heather was right, and Heather was wise, and Toothless offered her a weak and friendly look in gratitude. They had hardly met hours ago and already she was being his family, telling him what he needed to hear even if he didn't want to hear it, while at the same time being so gentle and warm. He really did feel grateful for that, a weak smile tugging at the corners of his mouth and raising his brows.
However, if there was one thing that Heather was absolutely right about and that Toothless would not relent on, it was the weapons. That expression quickly became dark and bitter, eyes becoming haunted as he listened to the screams of dying and trapped dragons and Vikings, the war cries and furious screeches, the sound of wood splintering and axes thunking wetly into their targets. His breath hitched a little as he smelled fire and blood and metal and death. His skin prickled at the memory of searing heat from explosions.
“All dragons know better than to trust Vikings.” His green eyes flashed with hatred and blood lust, the wound of war now leaking poison through him. “Vikings crush mountains and tame seas! Vikings are merciless and brutal monsters of the land that wage war on anything they don't understand.” And that gaze went to Hiccup now. “ And Vikings always go for the kill.”
That expression began to melt away now, remembering the soft touch of his friend who had set him free instead of cutting out his heart and taking it to his father. The festering wound of war began to close again, quelling some of that ferocity and his rage. He blinked back to the present, watching that twig slide so gently against the dirt, curiosity coming alive inside of him. He couldn't help it, he was always so fascinated by what Hiccup did with his hands. Partly because he didn't have thumbs like his friend, but mostly because Hiccup was gentle. Hiccup was creative and an inventor, like his fellow Vikings, but he channeled it for things that were better. Things that were peaceful and could help humans and dragons alike, not things that were made to kill and destroy.
Despite himself, Toothless stepped closer, putting his paws on Heather's tail and leaning over to try and get a glimpse of what his friend might be drawing in the dirt. Hiccup was always drawing and always taking notes in his little book... it was nice to see that at least that hadn't changed about his friend.

As heather begun to speak, Hiccup's interest peaked..after all he didn't know how it had happened, so any explanation right about would of done. Of course he could indeed understand every word that was being spoken, more so the two of them talked as if he wasn't even there. Frowning into the floor, Hiccup continued to draw various pictures and doodles, he knew Toothless knew that he could understand them.. yet Hiccup, judging by Toothless's reaction. Hiccup came to the conclusion that Toothless wasn't quite ready for that new additional extra. So as he listened Hiccup kept his head down, and tried his best not to listen, although it was proving difficult. It did after all provide valuable information, all of which Hiccup needed to know.. how else could you explain a sudden drastic change in age? Just then, Heather went on to mention about weapons.. this commented caused Hiccup to pause for a moment, as he froze and listened to the next string of words.
As he listened, Hiccup could hear everything Toothless said.. it was still so strange to know that he could actually understand his best friend! he only wished he had known about it sooner, still at least he knew now.. perhaps it would make things easier? Hiccup could in some sense understand Toothless's distrust of him.. if roles had been reversed then Hiccup would of felt the same.. Why did things have to change so quickly? suddenly his limbs had grown longer, his face wider.. he even had some muscle about him (sure there was very little of it but it was muscle none the less.) He had certainly grown into himself.. although he would of never have pictured himself to look as he did. Returning to his drawing that now idly took on the shape of his friend, Hiccup paused once again at Toothless's words.. slowly lifting his gaze, green eyes meeting green. Hiccup's eyes widened, as he was brought back to that night.. that one night that had changed his future entirely.
As soon as it was mentioned about going for the kill, Hiccup winced and instantly cast his gaze downwards, sheepishly almost. Yes he remembered that too.. he had been handed a dragon on a plate, and yet Hiccup couldn't.. he couldn't kill a dragon. Although he had tried, his compassion had one over.. Toothless back then had been a creature a living creature just like any other.. sure they may of killed hundreds of Vikings.. but in turn.. they hand killed thousands of dragons. That one decision had of course changed their entire future, his future.. and never in a million years would he ever regret that decision despite what Mildew had said, along with many others. Dragons where his life now.. everything about them, everything that involved them. That was Hiccup. That was who he was, and yes.. all of him. Out of the corner of his eyes, Hiccup could see Toothless creep a fraction closer, his eyes glued upon the stick within Hiccup's hand, his head following the movements. Then, Hiccup added the last few touches to the picture, the nose and the eyes.
Beside the drawn dragon was a smaller.. version of himself.. if only he hadn't changed.. if only he had stayed the same? Would that of even been possible? With a sigh, Hiccup blew out a breath as he continued to draw other features.. adding some grass and rocks.. a scene that reminded him greatly of the cove. A place that had been and would always remain special to the two of them.

She looked at Hiccup, it was clear all he was thinking about was toothless, she decided to take this discussion to a different perspective as flames engulfed her body soon exposing a poised young woman's body, that of a 20 year old, her tail thumped against the ground as she began to notice Toothless's curiosity, she knew when she was drawing toothless seemed to be interested in the things she could do with her hands. Feeling sympathy, sorrow for the both of them she gave Hiccup a sweet smile, she hesitated, but then placed her hand on the young man's shoulder.
She still was a bit afraid, the last time she had shown a human her form she was only a small dragon child, the children would run and others would flock out of protectiveness and fear and chase her off. The only time that changed was when she met Kurama and that wasn't for quite a few years. Her voice was soft and timid, unlike how she was when she first saw toothless."Please don't be upset, I'll help you and Toothless regain that bond, in fact I know it isn't gone. Toothless is just young. It is especially hard for a dragon to grasp things especially if....if it doesn't have a mother or father to teach it. Toothless....Toothless is probably afraid of something that caused you to change, change is very scary." She fiddled with her fingers a clear sign of being nervous, withdrawing her hand she moved to Toothless and gently rubbed his head. She just needed to find out what that something was that scared him so much, it seemed the fear was portrayed onto Hiccups's new form.
Then toothless mentioned Vikings went for the kill, but that whole statement didn't make sense, that was the day things changed for them wasn't it? "Toothless, you say that, but if that were true, you and I would never have met, that dramatic change is what brought on the goodness in your life, it opened door ways for you to explore with Hiccup, you learned so much and i bet even in your home world things have changed for the better. In fact, you have grown yourself and that may just be because of Hiccup. Some change is good. I know you both are struggling, but i really believe it is this place, perhaps it accelerated his age, and possible postpone yours, dragons aren't really affected by what ever magic brought all of them here."
Then it hit her, magic...could it be that the magic that brought him here caused this, she knew dragons had a high tolerance to magic as certain things wouldn't do much or even took longer to take effect if so then maybe toothless will grow just like hiccup, but not for a while or as fast.
"Mr. Hiccup? what are your out looks on magic?"

Toothless continued to watch, recognizing himself and the little Hiccup that he drew. His head moved and twirled with every motion Hiccup made with his little stick, purring gently, a soft rumbling in his throat. He turned idly when a flash of heat and flames told him that Heather was turning back to her other form, and he stepped off her tail so he wouldn't be in the way, watching with intrigue and interest until he was drawn back to Hiccup and his drawing again. Well, more accurately, his stick.
His pupils began to widen, and lifted one of his paws, looking like he was ready to lunge for it, when suddenly Heather was speaking and he flinched a little in embarrassment. "Toothless isn't that young!" He countered, looking up at her with a huff. Which of course, Toothless did not believe one second. Looking at Heather in both this and her dragon form, and now looking over at his older friend, Toothless suddenly felt like he was the size of a Terrible Terror. His ears flattened a little more, and Toothless looked down at the picture that Hiccup was still drawing.
He had added bushes and rocks now. With a pang Toothless realized Hiccup was drawing the cove.
Heather moved back by him now, placing her hand on his head. Toothless accepted it with a purr, eyes now going over to the weapons that were hiding and cast away. Toothless began to wonder now when Hiccup had acquired them. When Hiccup had even learned to use a sword? Did Hiccup still have that little desk of his covered in messy papers of half finished drawings of dragons and inventions? Had Hiccup actually completed some and build any? Did Hiccup start taking on new chiefly duties and was continuing to make Stoick proud? What exactly had Toothless missed?
His troubled gaze moved to Hiccup then, still drawing in the sand. Heather mentioned magic and Toothless automatically hissed. "Toothless hate magic." All it every seem to do was cause pain!
Play took over him again as he continued to watch that stick move. And then Heather addressed Hiccup again and Toothless found his window of opportunity. There was no warning that he gave, suddenly jumping foreword and snapping his head foreword so he could snap his jaws around the stick in Hiccup's hand, stilling it instantly. Green eyes looked up at Hiccup, narrowed, challenging. He lifted his head slowly, taking a step back, growling and tugging; but not too hard. It wouldn't be fun if he didn't make a game out of it.
Toothless wanted Hiccup's stick and that was that.

Whilst sulking, Hiccup continued to listen and draw.. it was only when there was a sudden burst of heat did Hiccup look up, at which he instantly had to shield his eyes with his arm. Then.. as the flames died down Hiccup saw the outline of a female.. perhaps barley older than himself, Paused mid draw. Hiccup gaped.. what.. was that!? Had he really just seen what he thought he had seen? Wide eyed and transfixed, Hiccup barely registered the words that she spoke.. Although surprise was an understatement of sorts. He knew it! He knew there was something more to Heather.. she hadn't seemed like a true dragon, in all of his experiences he had never come across or heard of a dragon who seemed so human!
So the fact that she was human certainly boosted his slowly growing ego, he was right! he knew something had been off! When she placed a hand upon his shoulder, he suddenly snapped out of his awe. That.. had been unlike anything he had ever seen.. imagine what his father would say? Shaking his head, Hiccup blinked. What use was it to dwell on his father now? they were never going to return home.. of course, that thought alone brought with it countless other thoughts and feelings. That he really didn't think he had the energy to experience right now. When she begun to mention about helping to fix the bond between Toothless and he, Hiccup looked up to her for a long moment. What could he say to that..?
Just then Hiccup noticed the sudden curious peak of Toothless as he watched his stick so very intensely.. noting the sudden expansion of pupils and the slight flicker of the tail... Hiccup went with it.. lightly he begun to draw again.. small things yet as he did so his attention was focused upon Toothless, When Heather asked him about his thoughts on magic he paused. Magic..? It was certainly an odd question, one he had never been asked or had to think about. "um.. magic? Well.. I can't say we have had much dealings with magic.. sure superstitions and all that but magic? Well if I hadn't of seen you change like you did just then.. I wouldn't believe it. I just think.. magic is.. " he paused as he thought about it.. really thought about it. "Magic is different, and unexplored. No one knows what magic really is or what it does, magic is what they don't understand or know.. because of that people fear it." He stated, feeling rather proud with his explanation.
Just then, outta no where he felt a sudden tug on his stick and a jolt. Eyes flashing ahead, Hiccup saw Toothless, his jaws clamped tightly around his stick. "Toothless wha-" he begun, before he knew it, Toothless had given it a tug.. the tug in it's self certainly caused Hiccup to plant his feet, had he not then he would of been sprawled out across the floor. What Hiccup also noticed was that familiar gleam in his friends eyes.. he wanted to play? Before hand If Toothless had wanted it, then he would of snatched it swiftly. This time however he had tugged at it.. as if inviting Hiccup to play. Hope danced across his face and in response Hiccup tugged the stick back in reply.

She tried, oh did she try, but Toothless was so cute she couldn't help watching them play. That expression was priceless, she even noticed the spark of hope in Hiccups's eyes, she knew this was the way Toothless acted where Hiccup and him came from. While Toothless tugged on the stick Heather looked at his drawings, they were good, the detail, the whole thing, she could only imaging what it was like. Her ears twitched with each sound they both made, she remained quite, the shyness was like a cover for her, not to mention it helped her from saying stupid stuff. She looked up, moving a strand from her face and continued to watch silently not wanting to disturb the moment. She moved to her bag and pulled out a small gem, it almost look like a dragon's eye, the shine of its light blue color was a perfect compliment to Toothless's dark scales. Now she began to pull out some small scraps of metal, she needed more but decided to work with what she had as of now. She blew a stream of flames to heat up the metal as she began to work the gem into the metal, hoping it would hold it in place, still uncertain of what she wanted to make the metal into, she looked up at Toothless. She couldn't just make a sculpture, he had no way of carrying it, so she had to think of something Toothless could keep always, but what...?

Simply holding on to the stick, Toothless waited for Hiccup to catch on, which was beginning to make him antsy the longer it took, feet shuffling underneath him and a soft warble coming from his throat. There was a moment where Hiccup was met with resistance as he pulled before Toothless relented, releasing his strength and even allowing Hiccup to pull him foreword a couple steps. And then he braced himself and with a vengeance he tugged, keeping a careful balance so that he didn't pull the stick out of Hiccup's grasp but at the same time could offer the boy a challenge; and looking like he was trying to yank Hiccup to his feet.
Well, foot.
He was aware that Heather had moved, and was now blowing fire. He could hear it, he could feel it, and he could smell it. He could also smell whatever it was that she was working on. He sunk his teeth deeper into the stick, shaking his head and trying (not too hard) to wrench it free of Hiccup's grasp, while also trying not to succumb to the curiosity of what it was. Eventually that curiosity was just too much though, especially when he heard the clinking of metal. His ear flicked and then his green eyes shot to the left, trying to see what she was doing, and letting his guard down.

Hiccup, tried he really did try to listen to Heather, yet Toothless was demanding that he be played with, and how could Hiccup say no to that? In a split second from hating him, distrusting him to now wanting to play with him? Hiccup couldn't say no. At that Toothless begun to pull, really pull so much so that Hiccup had to get to his feet, in order to put some weight behind his own pull. It was funny, had he been smaller he would of gone flying yards by now, yet now.. now he had some weight and height behind him. That alone would provide Toothless with a good challenge. As Toothless tugged, so did Hiccup, back and forth they went each shifting a few steps here and there under the weight of the pull. Just then there was a small cracking sound, yet before Hiccup could say anything the stick broke.
Due to the fact there had been strength behind both of them, Hiccup ended up falling backwards landing with a hard thump as his behind hit the dusty solid ground, with half a stick in hand Hiccup gave into a bout of laughter. This was only further prolonged as he too saw Toothless sitting back on his haunches, somewhat confused yet equally in small bouts of laughter. Grinning towards his friend, Hiccup got to his feet and dusted of his now muddy bottom, before he sighed. There was still so much to mend, and to fix and for that brief moment it had felt like old times. Just then Hiccup glanced over to Heather who was clanking and clicking around, curious Hiccup made his way over to stand beside the woman, who for a change was roughly the same height as he.
Well.. that would take some getting used to.. he was no longer small. "So.. Heather.. you.. well, you can change into a dragon?" He questioned, that part really did interest him.. he had never heard or seen anything like that before, until now. Just then he looked towards the small gem type object she held in her hands, and he frowned lightly. "That's a pretty item.. you should keep that safe.. wait.. what are you doing?" he questioned further as he watched her expertly bend small bits of metal around it. What he wouldn't give to breath fire.. how awesome would that be? It would give Snotlet a run for his money that was for sure.

She had looked up to see Hiccup fall flat on his behind which made her giggle, but then Hiccup moved over to watch her just by listening to his tone she could hear his interest as he spoke of her being able to change,"That's right, thought its a bit hard to control so i refuse to use it unless necessary, its okay when I'm not in a fight, but other then that...it is very hard to manage. "This brought a smile to her lips, he asked her what she was making when in fact she didn't have a idea of what to shape it into,"I was making this for toothless, you gave him his saddle, and that wonderful gift of flight back into his life, i decided i wanted to give a piece to him in case you both make it back home. This way he has a part of me you know. But i have no idea how i want to shape this, it needs to be something that will hold fast and not be a burden to carry, any ideas?" She needed to put a bit more force into the metal so she backed up and once again flames coiled around her figure scorching the small blades of grass until her large dragon from lingered over the small piece, and the young manIt seems you and Toothless like this form ,unlike the others this form can be...well...destructive..."
