General Appearance: Leona is a very petite woman, she's got little to no physical strength, and she's not one for a fight. She very stealthy and very agile but she tends to lean towards working her magic from the shadows than an actual confrontation. She's a talented thief with a lovely smile, quite a deadly combination, when she decides to put such skills to use. She's slowly stopping her mischievous ways, now that she really no longer has need for them. She works at the Golden Inn, working the bar when Ruby needs help or is otherwise predisposed. She's a lively personality with a wicked smile and can charm the most cold of spirits with easy banter a soft laugh. She got numerous scars that run the length of her lower back and she keeps them well hidden from view, they were nasty, wicked wounds and while they no longer cause her grief, she is very self conscious about the thick pink lines that mar her skin and keeps them well hidden.
She had adjusted well to this time period, and has adapted quite fantastically. Her most common attire are a simple bear of boots, stylish but easy for navigating all sorts of terrain, skirts that reach her calves, but are loose and allow for easy and free-flowing movement, a thick white undershirt, usually tucked into the skirt to avoid anyone chancing upon her scars and a tightly laced corset. Jewelry and diamonds had never been her thing and she forgoes them here more often than not. She's an avid painter and when she's alone and locked away in her room, it's not uncommon to find her clad in only a thick white undershirt, adding a variety of new stains too the garment.

General Personality: Shes quiet, distant, cold, aloof, not prone to long bouts of conversation and incredibly untrusting. Shes a hard shell to crack and even more difficult to get beneath her skin. She attempts to blend with her surroundings remaining unnoticed and unseen in the shadows. Even alone he becomes very quiet, very introverted, and seemingly memorized by the movement of her paintbrush against the easel. She pours her feelings and her emotions into her work and it shows. Whether its happiness, joy, laughter, sadness, anger, she lets the paints suck up her emotions and it's not uncommon to see her candles flickering in the dead of night.

And God knows it's the only way to heal now

History: Born in Bordeaux France in the late 1920's, Leona was the second child of a rather rich French family. Her father was a well known politician, and her mother was his ever lovely blushing bride. She was an adorable child and whether her company was a rich nobleman, a servant, or an orphan on the street, the sound of her laughter echoed far and wide across the grounds. She loved to smile, she loved to laugh, and was a complete and total daddy's girl. She was forever, stowing away in his carriages, hiding out in his office, even popping in on some of his meetings until he simply gave up and explained to his kin that she was simply an extension of him and what was he to do? He dared anyone to tell her puppy dog eyes no.
She loved her family dearly, they were closely knit and despite her fathers business travels that sometimes lasted for weeks, he always made room for his family. Family was the most important aspect of her life. Around her thirteenth birthday, German Nazis invaded France with devastating force. Her father was killed, gunned down in the middle of the street and her mother barely had time to sneak her and her brother out the back entrance before their house was blown apart. She had her brother were taken prisoners and she was beaten with a cane and tortured until they were sure she had spoken of everything she knew, they were merciless with her. She never found out what became of her brother.
One of the German Nazis having taken pity on her, let her escape in the dead of night and gave her what little bit of food he could spare. She took to the streets, cutting off her hair and dirtying her face so she wouldn't be recognized. She learned fast how to steal and how to pickpocket without getting caught and she survived in such ways for the duration of the war. After the Allied forces won, she was found by an old woman who slowly but surely gained her trust.
Maria Banadra was her name and she spoke absolutely no French. They worked together trying to understand one another until Leona became rather fluent in English and Maria became rather fluent in French. She encouraged her love for paintings, and understood her desire not to get married. While she disagreed with her sentiments of not wanting to get close to anyone, the old woman did not pester her and Leona stayed. She remained on the small plot of land well after the woman had passed away, growing slowly more agreeable and more social able as the years ticked by, but still remaining fairly independent... that is of course... until she was brought to Aledon...
With all the blood I lost with you
