- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - IT'S JUST ONE OF THOSE DAYS feeling like a freight trainFIRST ONE TO COMPLAIN, LEAVES WITH A BLOODSTAIN- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - "HELPPP" was Astrid's startled cry as she woke up on a cold bench hearing a few chickens react not that far away as passerby's only gave her strange glances as if she was yet another homeless girl amid the wealthy. She had to take a few deep breathes to collect herself, as her eyes darted from one target to the next in a rapid and confused manner realizing she was no longer in her bed at home. Immediately her head started to buzz with questions, the first one being, "what in Thor's name happened?!".
Of course, thanks to the startled and disgusted faces staring back, getting an answer didn't seem so easy. Specially when she was slowly changing her expression from startled to cold and distant. Often others assumed she was just stuck up and full of herself, in part it wasn't an outright lie but in this case she just wasn't good at showing vulnerability. Never had, and in her respective opinion never would because showing vulnerability was equal to showing weakness.
As she sat up and looked around, nothing made anymore sense, she was now in some sort of square. A central point for people to pass by and shop as they were doing now. She didn't care for the people, she just wanted to know what had happened and why she was even there in the first place. Turning ever so slightly, she noticed a fountain just behind the bench she was on, within a heartbeat she had rushed next to it as she splashed cold water against her face. Maybe it was just part of her nightmare still, least that was the hope as she caught her reflection against the ripple effect and sighed, speaking to herself in a low breathe. "Keep it together Astrid, its alright.... everything is going to be alr-----" at which point she paused herself and caught a shadow lurking just next to her own reflection. The ripples were making it difficult to make out the face in the reflection but in clear poise to defend herself she sharply tucked in to herself and turned before landing a good blow to the lurker's abdomen. "Creep!!" she fumed. Only barely noticing with her fist against his gut as one of his legs made a metal sound while staggering back. She could have sworn something was too familiar about this and just as she peered up to witness the poor boy's disgruntled face she knew why. "HICCUP?!"

That morning, Hiccup had done his best to sustain money.. what money he earned however was quickly spent on Toothless's demands for fish. That dragon sure could eat.. sure Hiccup was aware of the fact Toothless could probably hunt.. however, Hiccup at the same time knew Toothless was unable to hunt properly unless for the simple reason that he was unable to fly. So, for the morning Hiccup had been putting his skills to good use, the old man and the woman whom owned the towns blacksmith, were struggling to meet demands. Yet because Hiccup had borrowed the place to begin with, they had later offered him a job, thankful for their kindness, Hiccups days had therefore been spent working. Or at least the mornings.
Currently however Hiccup was about to run his last errand of that morning, with his arms filled with various items and equipment, Hiccup went about his deliveries, receiving a rather nice tip in the process that he continued to put away for safe keeping. It was strange now however.. he was bigger and stronger, In fact there were a few times Hiccup was unsure if he could carry such weight.. yet he was constantly reminded by himself, that now he had height and strength to him. His good luck didn't end there though, Toothless and he had spent many afternoons and evenings together talking, chatting among various other things. That trust that Hiccup had feared had been lost was returning.
Now, Hiccup was able to extend that bond, to the point of giving his friend various scratches and pets..They were so close, but the bond they shared was definitely on the right path to being fully repaired it was only a bit longer now. He could feel it. Upon returning from his delivery, and heading across the town square, Hiccup counted the money within his palm. Luckily this customer was rather wealthy.. and therefore tipped generously. It was only due to the sudden commotion of whispering that Hiccup's interest peaked. Glancing around, Hiccup spotted two woman whispering and pointing in a general direction.
Frowning curiously, Hiccup edged closer and with it spotted the source of interest. Upon the bench, mere yards away lay a female, she appeared to be sleeping..She had blond hair braided neatly to the side and wore what appeared to be leather garments. Intrigued by this Hiccup frowned.. it was only when the female moved and sat upright did his jaw drop. It was Astrid! there was no words that could explain what he felt at that moment, similar to the time when he had witnessed her putting out the fire.. everything slowed right down.. by this point she had splashed water on her face, and flicked her hair back. Wow, there really was no other word he could use.. she was.. well beautiful!
Suddenly something registered.. memories shifted within his brain what it had been like growing up.. among other things. Yet it was all well having such memories.. they did however still feel false.. as if he hadn't.. actually lived through them or experienced them; It was a strange feeling. The sudden sound of whispers increased and Hiccup knew it was probably time to do something.. pocketing his money he marched with a sudden renewed sense of confidence about him that he hadn't known was there, and headed directly towards her. Having reached her side, Hiccup opened his mouth to speak only to receive a very sudden and harsh blow to his abdomen.
Wind rushed from his lungs, causing him to double over a fraction, with his arms clutched across his abdomen. With a breathy reply of "Ouch..." Hiccup sucked in air. When? When did she get so damned strong? Sure she was strong usually but that blow.. was something else entirely. Doubling over and sucking in great gulps of air Hiccup raised his hand "Give.. me.. a moment.." he gasped as he tried to settle down his lungs that had very swiftly been deprived of all oxygen.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - IT'S JUST ONE OF THOSE DAYS feeling like a freight trainFIRST ONE TO COMPLAIN, LEAVES WITH A BLOODSTAIN- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - While blushing profusely now, Astrid couldn't help but cover her mouth in both surprise and relief. For one, she just crossed with someone she knew, but unfortunately treated him worse than she would have any other time. In all honesty, she was more than relieved, the sight of this Hiccup gave her some sense of hope that things would be alright even if she didn't express it in the moment. Though the moment she tried to come to terms with the truth, with the fact that this was Hiccup, or at least the Hiccup she remembered just the day before before waking at this random place then she knew what sort of face to up almost immediately.
Straightening her posture as she cleared her throat and tried to look cool about it all even though there were still some occasional passerby's staring from a distance. "Oh get over yourself, I've done worse" she mused, rolling her eyes and sighing loudly though he wouldn't notice how she'd try and peek a glance to check if he was really alright. "You aught to know better than to sneak up on me" she added with a calmer tone though still acting like it wasn't her fault. After a few moments, in what he got recovered, Astrid had leaned against the fountain, arms folded as she watched him with a furrowed glance. Unsure of what it was, she didn't necessarily feel the same familiarity she always had with him. She didn't necessarily need to observe him long to sense that thought but she refrained from saying anything over it.
"So.....you feel better" came her next retort in sarcasm though she was inwardly slightly worried as to the damage she might have left. "Want to tell me what exactly is going on here....and WHY we're not on Berk?!". From relief came anger, but it wasn't necessarily directed at Hiccup, even if it sounded that way, it was just her nature to sound temperamental when she didn't have an answer to her own questions. "I go to sleep in my bed and wake up ......here..... what is ....this place anyway" she continued glaring all around her unsure of where they even where.
Then it dawned to her that she was seeing Hiccup but then, where was Toothless, the two were rarely apart if ever. Least that was what she recalled, scanning around him to find nothing but still curious people who didn't understand what was going on between the two or if to call some sort of law abiding enforcement. "Wait.... where's Toothless... and....AND STORMFLY?!" almost hysterically as she pushed herself off the fountain and started to have a total panic attack in the middle of the square. Astrid was clearly not keeping her calm and the questions just kept coming. Her only hope, even if she wouldn't admit it was for Hiccup, her best friend, to play hero once more.

Catching his breath, his gut throbbed and his chest ached as he slowly begun to straighten himself "What happened to the traditional Hi, how can I help you part?" he questioned as Astrid told him to 'get over himself', in reply to her comment about sneaking up on her Hiccup frowned "You didn't give me a chance to sneak up on you! I was just about to say hello.." He commented, just then Astrid wasted no time in asking questions.. did everyone presume he had the answer to everything? Sure.. for the most part he did know the answer, but that was really beside the point "I don't know why we are not on Berk, I have been trying to figure that out my self, as to what's going on? well isn't that obvious? You just punched me and now were trying to establish some form of level ground." He commented with his usual level of sarcasm and wit.
With a sigh Hiccup explained "Where in a place called Aldeon, I'm not sure what that place is.. but there are a whole load of people just like us here.. as in, they aren't from here but from somewhere entirely different." was all he could say, for that was all he knew after all, his idea of researching the place was not going at all that well, there really was nothing about where they were, or about the city. Just then, Astrid broke into a small fit of hysteria at which point even more people stopped to listen, they needed to get moving.. it was clear enough upon Hiccup's arrival that they didn't take to kindly to dragons. "okay.. time to go.." he spoke, before he moved behind Astrid and begun to give her a light push in the other direction, away from the town square, and away from the others.
Offering the public an awkward smile, he continued to push Astrid lightly away until they had begun to walk away from the town center and towards the rolling hills of the mountains that was littered with caves. "Okay.. firstly I have no idea where Stormfly is.. wherever she is I'm sure she's alright.. she'll come find you." he added, he knew exactly how Astrid felt, for he had been the same when he had arrived here.. he had spent an entire three days looking for Toothless. It was fate that they would meet, and it only highlighted the fact that Astrid would also meet Stromfly. "- secondly, Toothless is around.. he's living by the lake.. people here aren't so tolerant of dragons.. Thirdly.. you should know there is something different about him.. probably different from the Toothless you know."

Typical of Hiccup to complain about something so small as a punch to the gut, even Astrid knew how to handle such things even though it wasn't everyday she got punched. Nonetheless, when he had stepped besides her and started to push her out of the crowd, all she could do was sigh, really she had half a mind to stiffen up and get him in a headlock for not really answering her questions but the eyes that were staring where already murmuring and she often hated being in the center stage of things.
Once out of sight and out of mind, he had stopped to finish his response. Of course it wasn't one she wanted to hear, her stress levels were now soaring wondering where her dear dragon was now. Astrid wasn't the type to think or make others believe her dragon was a vulnerable thing, Stormfly was a strong dragon in her own right and could swing with the boys any day but that still didn't take away from the concern she felt about seeing her dragon alone. Worse if she were ever even killed by people that simple didn't understand her. Not like Hiccup or she did at least.
Though at she heard about Toothless her ears perked and her glance which was wondering off into the distance darted back toward Hiccup's in an almost hopeful stare. "He's here?!... Toothless made it safe and sound... so Stormfly could well be hiding too, maybe she knew these people weren't like those from Berk.... we have to find her... we just have to!" not necessarily as hysterical as earlier but definitely sounding rather desperate to get Hiccup's help. As he continued, her expression changed once more, furrowing her brows in curiosity as to what exactly was so "different" with Toothless and so it also dawned to her as to how long Hiccup had even been here. No one was staring at him oddly earlier, and he already knew where they were, had found Toothless, things just weren't adding up.
"Wait.. Hiccup just wait" lifting her hands to place more distance between them as she glanced at the ground between them. "You didn't just appear here overnight like me did you.... I just saw you last night... and here you are all calm? " she asked as if she was getting to some sort of conclusion but not fully sure. " What's going on..." she finished with a deep sigh as she in a sense wanted to give up trying and just let herself lean onto a nearby rock before rubbing her eyes in both stress and tiredness.

They were finally out of the view of onlooking town folk, the last thing he needed was attention, attention had never been his friend. Something always had to go wrong, or he'd end up getting involved in something life threatening. As soon as he mentioned that Toothless was here, Astrid's response was loud. "Yes.. he's here we got brought in together during our flight. It's possible, I found Toothless after all." Astrid was getting her self worked up and into a state that wouldn't help anyone right now. Raising his hands he tried his best to calm her down before she started hyperventilating.
"Yes I know and we will! Just calm down!" he called to her, before she then turned the table and begun asking yet more questions. Now this.. this was the tricky part, one that would prove difficult to explain. "No.. I didn't appear overnight, I've been here for.. a few months I think, it's a very long and complicated story heh" He begun, rubbing the back of his neck he didn't even know where to begin.
"I don't know, I'm trying to work it out myself." he explained before he glared at the floor and carried out hand gestures to match his next sentence. "I came her, at 14 years old with Toothless, fell asleep and woke up four years older. Heather reckons it's delayed aging, timing here is different from our world." He stated, for it was the best he could do and it was the most simplest explanation. [/b]"But I remember stuff.. my head filled with memories, but I don't feel like i lived though any of it.."[/b] he shrugged and sighed. "Well. At any rate, we need to head away from town, the people talk ALOT, I live not that far from here.. well it's where I have been staying." The term living was certainly wasted, he wouldn't call it home, and nor would he say that he spent any amount of time there other than to sleep.[/blockquote][/size]
